    Based in Portsmouth, Phil Pettis is a longtime partner with Boynton, Waldron, Doleac, Woodman & Scott, PA. Part of a firm that has served New Hampshire clients for nearly a century, he handles cases related to business and employment law. Experienced in complex litigation, Phil Pettis was lead counsel in Becksted v. Nadeau, 155 NH 615 (2007), which he briefed and argued before the state Supreme Court.

    Studying political science at Bates College, Mr. Pettis was co-captain of the football team and received accolades for his senior thesis on the topic "The Evolution of Special-Purpose Governments As a Result of Military Base Closures: A Case Study of the Pease Development Authority.” He subsequently completed a juris doctor degree at the Franklin Pierce Law Center.

    Active in his community, Mr. Pettis has volunteered with the Market Square Steeple Fund since 2005, where he supports the restoration and preservation of a historic downtown Portsmouth church steeple. Phil Pettis has also volunteered as Rockingham County representative to the New Hampshire Bar Association, providing local attorneys with a statewide voice.
